Please consider the following aspects of this experience as you engage in an intern or volunteer experience with Renovation Psychology.

Please read information here and also fill out the Intern Interest Survey at the bottom of the page.

About Interns ~ What is an Intern?

The role of an intern differs from that of a student in several ways - a student is receiving education solely for their own benefit.  The student has responsibility to self to excel, but will not impact others if choosing to slack off.
On the other hand, an intern has two roles: to learn under variable supervision and to perform real tasks of a business in an ever-more professional manner, over time.

The professional productions of Renovation Psychology will depend on the intern to attend to details and complete tasks in the appropriate time frames.  Being reasonable, all of these tasks and time lines are subject to re-adjustment, but practically speaking - we will need adequate notice.  So, be sure to stay in communication, and if something seems too big for you, or you have other pressing events in your life, please be sure to let your supervisor know at the start of your task, or in the first quarter of the time allotted to accomplish it, so that it can be re-assigned.  Always talk it through, no matter what it is.  We understand that life happens.

Interns are not paid; this is the industry standard.  You are not alone; Interns work for ABC, NBC, and us.  Interns get exposure to the profession, some training, a chance to develop some great products and experiences, and a well-developed resume.   Hopefully we will be able to brag big time about you so that your next life experience jumps at the chance to get you.

You will work out a schedule with your supervisor.  Please discuss it with your parents, and measure out how much time you can devote to your internship in the different seasons of your year.  Be sure to tell your supervisor about when those seasons start and end.  We will see how we can best be of help to each other in these different seasons.  Your tasks may change, but that is also good, to get exposure to many different things.

Survey of interests:

You will be assigned tasks in proportion to your availability, reliability and ability, as well as our capacity to supervise your work.

Your desires - We want to know what you most want to do on your internship
(no guarantees - just asking what's on your mind)

You can select more than one of these by holding down the CTRL key as you choose the items from the above drop down list.

Your capabilities -
AND -- What do you already know how to do?

Again, you can select more than one of these by holding down the CTRL key as you choose the items from the above drop down list.

If you are over 18, you will also need to complete the permission form.
If you are a minor, both you and your parents need to do this soon, so that they are aware of your responsibilities and our accountabilities in your internship.
